October is even bigger this year! 

Get ready for a month of fun and festivals to celebrate in the city. October in Nottingham kicks off with the Spiegel Tent in Old Market Square and the famous Goose Fair on Forest Recreation Ground.

The Spiegel Tent, 30 Sept - 4 Oct, Old Market Square
The Salon Perdu, has spent its life travelling the world from New York to Sydney and now to Nottingham.  Complete with ornate decoration and mirrors it will host events including music performances, a comedy night and burlesque shows.

Halloween Tours, throughout October, Galleries of Justice and Nottingham Caves
Scare yourself silly this Halloween and book onto a Halloween tour at the most haunted building in the UK this Halloween. Ghost Tours, Terror Tours and Spirits of the Dungeons Tours will be taking place for the perfect spooky experience at one of the UK's top haunted attractions.

Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival, 7 - 10 Oct, Nottingham Castle 
The hugely popular Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival will once again tempt with over 1000 craft beers and 200 ciders and perries available, plus entertainment.

Hockley Hustle, 11 Oct, Around Hockley
The Hockley Hustle music festival returns to over 20 venues in the Creative Quarter. See fantastic performances with all proceeds going to six local charities.

Mayhem Film Festival, 15 - 18 Oct, Broadway Cinema
Mayhem showcases the best horror, sci-fi and cult feature and short films - with preview screenings, cult classics and special events and guests, including Jonathan Rigby and Steve Oram.

Robin Hood Day and Week, 17 - 25 Oct, Various locations
Celebrate our famous man in tights with a week-long series of events and performances, kicking off with International Robin Hood Day on Saturday 17 October! See wandering minstrels and of course Robin Hood himself, as businesses and attractions across the city pay tribute to our hero.

GameCity10 Festival, 22 - 31 Oct, Various locations
Celebrating its tenth year, GameCity will take place at venues across the city with a mission to get Nottingham having fun.  Enjoy ten days of great events for all ages, there'll be workshops, arcades, talks, games and some things a little more out of the ordinary.

Robin Hood Pageant, 23 - 25 Oct, Nottingham Castle
A celebration of Nottingham's outlaw, the Robin Hood Pageant transforms the grounds of Nottingham Castle into a medieval village with demonstrations and jousting tournaments. Also don't miss out on the fantastic Night-time Jousts on Friday 23 & Saturday 24 6.30pm - 8.30pm

Nottingham Oktoberfest, 28 Oct - 1 Nov, Forest Recreation Ground
Nottingham Oktoberfest looks to recreate all the fun of Germany's famous beer-based celebrations! There will be delicious beers to try, as well as all sorts of hearty food and live music adding to the atmosphere.

Theatre Royal 150th Anniversary

On Friday 25 September, the Theatre Royal Nottingham will celebrate its 150th anniversary. To mark this historic event a special programme of anniversary celebrations has been planned to celebrate the venue's past, present and future

Hood - The Legend Continues, with its roots firmly set in Nottinghamshire, will premiere at the Theatre Royal Nottingham on Thursday 17 September for a two-week run, commissioned exclusively to celebrate the Theatre's 150th anniversary year.

Goose Fair

Nottingham Goose Fair returns from Wednesday 30 September to Sunday 4 October to thrill and delight locals and visitors alike.  

The Forest Recreation Ground will once again host over 500 attractions, from the latest white knuckle experiences, family rides and the old favourites including waltzers, carousels and Hook-a-Duck. For thrill-seekers there will be around 100 adult rides and exhibitions.

City of Miracles: Stories from the Crowd

In advance of the national release of 'I Believe in Miracles' a documentary film on an achievement that is still unmatched in football history, relive the glory days of Nottingham Forest at this FREE event taking place at Nottingham Contemporary on 19, 20 & 21 September, 10am - 6pm. Enjoy the crucial goals, hear the fans’ stories and listen to that crowd roar! See players’ shirts, medals and other memorabilia of this astonishing era in Nottingham’s history – and take your photo with the European Cup. Take part in free family football activities for all ages, all around the gallery.

Notts Factor Following great success back in 2012, Nottingham's biggest talent contest, Notts Factor, is back this Sunday 4 October – bigger, better, and looking for you. Calling all Nottingham solo artist and bands! Do you want an opportunity to play a gig at the iconic Rescue Rooms and be in with a chance at winning a £500 cash prize, along with other great prizes. Nottingham Playhouse Open Day  On Sunday 20 September, join us at Nottingham Playhouse from 12pm for an afternoon of free fun activities and eye-openingly interesting events for all ages.
