Senior Casework Advisors x 2

Post 1 x 37

Post 2 x 18.5 hours

(temporary for 6 months) 

We are seeking experienced senior HR professionals to join our Casework Advisory team providing high quality, outcome focussed and risk based information, advisory and coaching service to managers.

Post 1: 1 x 37 hours

The focus of the role will be to respond to and up skill managers in resolving their people management/employee relations issues. As such, you will be required to apply your professional knowledge in a credible and confident way to ensure that people management issues can be resolved at the earliest stage.

The successful candidates will manage a group of Casework Advisors and work with line managers and peers adopting a coaching style to transfer skills and knowledge to support develop and guide them in understanding best practice in people management/employee relations issues. 

Post 2: 1 x 18.5 hours (Job share)

The role will comprise of two elements; one part will focus on leading a corporate safeguarding project for the Children and Adults Department. The other aspect will require applying professional knowledge in a credible and confident way to ensure that people management issues can be resolved effectively. 

For both roles…. 

The successful candidates will need to: 

-       Demonstrate a strong knowledge of employment law and considerable experience of using creative approaches to resolving people management issues in both informal and formal settings.

-       Demonstrate the ability to apply sound judgement (based on business and safeguarding needs) when advising managers on complex and difficult employee relations issues.

-       Have and showcase confidence and experience of managing high profile, high risk projects and issues using appropriate management techniques.

-       Have excellent negotiation and persuasion skills in influencing key stakeholders (such as directors, mangers, employees, councillors, trade unions etc.).

-       Demonstrate an ability to be creative and effective when recommending solutions to complex issues.

-       Apply employment law knowledge in a professional and credible way to ensure that people management issues can be resolved effectively.

-       To be brave, tenacious and resilient, and not be fazed by challenging the status quo.

Supporting citizens with a range of activities including personal care, maximising independence and administration of medication. Working predominantly in residential and day services.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 - Experience of supporting with personal care to a high standard

 - Experience of supporting citizens who have ways of expressing themselves that may be regarded as challenging

 - Ability to communicate clearly and accurately orally and in writing.

 - Understanding and knowledge of what constitutes abuse and how to safegaurd people

This is a casual post. Shifts are not guaranteed. Work will be in various locations throughout the City. Work will primarily be in residential and day services. Casual staff will only be used once all pre-employment checks have been completed and an induction programme attended.

Care Worker 3s are responsible for planning, organising and facilitating citizen activities. Casual Care Worker 3s may be asked to contribute to writing Care Plans which maximise citizen independence, and will be expected to ensure plans in place are accurately updated.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

 - Ability to assess needs, risks and other wellbeing requirements and develop Care Plans to support these.

 - Knowledge and understanding of administration of medication.

 - Experience in supporting citizens who express themselves in ways that may challenge services.

 - Skilled in supporting citizens in maintaining their independence and dignity.

The Adult Sensory Team is a busy and dynamic team providing assessment and direct rehabilitation to people with a visual impairment of all ages living in the City of Nottingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Qualified Rehabilitation Officer (Diploma in Rehabilitation Studies (VI) or equivalent) to join our team. The work is varied and interesting and the team supportive and friendly.

You will assess the needs of people with a sensory impairment and work with them in practical ways to identify rehabilitation packages that enable independence with daily living activities, communication skills, mobility, etc. You will also provide advice on specialist equipment and non-sighted means of carrying out every day activities. You will need to be self-motivated, have good communication skills and be eager to take on new opportunities. This post offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of people and their families in the City using modern flexible working practices, which facilitate the ability to work creatively and efficiently.
