To ensure the delivery of services to safeguard vulnerable adults and their families, according to their assessed needs and within financial constraints.

To work independently, under the general direction of the City Manager, to provide caseload and developmental supervision, support, advice and mentoring to colleagues to achieve and sustain high standards of performance, quality and customer service.

The Senior Community Care Officer will also carry an appropriate caseload.

The Senior Community Care Officer will have a key role in achieving and sustaining high standards of performance, quality and customer service, and improving the quality and throughput of assessments and reviews, for adult social care services.

A full enhanced DBS check will be required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and understanding of relevant key policies, procedures, processes, best practice, drivers and legislation in relation to the duties of the post

Substantial experience of working with adults in a social care/Health/voluntary sector setting.

Ability to support team members to achieve targets and the highest standards of performance, quality ensuring the throughput of assessments and reviews (including the effective use of IT systems and data)

Substantial experience of working with adults experiencing a range of difficulties relating to learning disability, mental health, physical health problems and substance abuse

Ability to provide caseload supervision and developmental support and mentoring to other colleagues
