Ideas for a rainy summer holiday 

It's the last week of the summer holidays, and the forecast this week is for lots of showers! Here are a few ideas of things to keep the kids entertained.

Archery GB National Series Finals - Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August

 

Head to Wollaton Park this weekend for the chance to see some fantastic live archery action. The best of British archery talent will be competing for the honour of becoming Archery GB National champions. There will be 24 competitors taking part in six different archery events. In addition there will be an exclusive invitational match, showcasing the talent of two Paralympic medallists in what is sure to be a nail biting match.

There will also be lots for the whole family to do, including the chance to meet the Robin Hood and Marian mascots, colouring, have a go at archery and more!

The Tour of Britain returns to Nottingham! Friday 11 Sept

The exciting cycling race the Aviva Tour of Britain, along with some of the best cyclists in the world, will return to the city in two weeks time!

The Tour last visited Nottingham in 2012. This time, we'll host the finish of Stage 6, a winding, challenging route from Stoke-On-Trent, through the Derbyshire Hills to Nottingham. The exciting finishing sprint will take place along Gregory Boulevard, Mansfield Road and along the promenade of the Forest Recreation Ground. 

Visitors should arrive at the Forest Recreation Ground by 2pm ready to get a good view of the finish - there will also be FREE live music and cycling themed activities to enjoy.

Newstead Abbey Food and Drink Festival 

Saturday, Sunday and Monday 29 - 31 August

Need something to do this bank holiday? Pop over to Newstead Abbey for the latest Great Food and Drink Festival! 

See demo's from chefs including Dean Edwards, Sean Wilson and Chetna Makan and enjoy food and drink stands, craft stands, lots for the kids to do, plus FREE entry to the beautiful gardens at Newstead Abbey.

Day tickets are £7 in advance, or £8 on the door

Harvey Hadden

Harvey Hadden opens on 1 September!

Harvey Hadden Sports Village officially opens to the public on 1 September, with visitors able to use all of the facilities. Beechdale Swimming Centre will close to the public on Friday 28 August. 

An official opening, and FREE fun day will follow on Saturday 12 September.
