Nottingham is a great place to grow older and Age Friendly
Nottingham is celebrating the value and unique contribution of its older
citizens during Older People’s Week from 28 September to 2 October 2015, and
showcasing what is available for citizens aged 50+.
The week kicks off with an event at the Council House on
Monday 28 September which will also include
- Celebrating the progress of the Older Citizens’ Charter
- Launching Nottingham’s ‘Take A Seat’ campaign to encourage businesses and shops to offer a seat in their premises for older people
- A broad selection of information stalls featuring employment and volunteering opportunities, learning and skills development, health and wellbeing, tax help and much more.
A programme of activities for across the city is being pulled
together featuring the contributions of partners eg Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue, and events
being staged in local areas eg an information event is being held at Bulwell
Riverside on 1 October. More details
will follow in the September Age Friendly Nottingham Bulletin. In the meantime please
