Remaining finishing works at the junction of Queen’s Road East and University Boulevard are to take place over the school summer holidays to minimise disruption to motorists. They mark another step towards the completion of the tram extension project.
Whilst the work is carried out at the junction trams will continue to be put through the final stages of testing on the new line to Beeston and Chilwell.
The Ring Road Improvement Scheme has moved into an intensive phase of activity at Crown Island and its junctions with Middleton Boulevard, Wollaton Road and Western Boulevard.
The Crown Island works are the latest stage of the £16.2m Ring Road project to reduce congestion and delays and improve journey time reliability on this strategically important route.
From Saturday July 25th to September 1st, works will be carried out for 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
Nottingham City Council has been selected by the government to support a study into delivering ultra-low emission taxis.
The £30,000 Energy Saving Trust (EST) feasibility study has been offered to the City Council after its application for funding from the Department for Transport’s £20m electric taxi development fund. This puts Nottingham’s case in pole position in its bid for a portion of the money.
Nottingham City Council’s Car Club is set to add more vehicles and hire sites to its scheme.
In November 2014 the Council was awarded £37.5k by the Department for Transport to help further develop its part in Nottingham’s integrated transport network, expanding the City Car Club fleet from eight locations and nine vehicles to 11 locations and 12 vehicles.
There will be three new neighbourhood hubs introduced at key transport interchanges.
