To lead a team of front line colleagues responsible for service delivery in a commercial environment dealing with the billing & recovery of Council Tax.

The team is primarily responsible for inbound telephony, although will also include face to face & correspondence.

Key duties will include rota management, intra day and forward planning for service delivery to ensure contractual targets are met as well as leadership & performance management of the team.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience of leading a team in a performance culture, against defined KPIs, and able to demonstrate quantifiable improvements in service delivery.

- Experience of handling conflict and effective performance management of individuals.

- Ability to critically analyse the business and formulate innovative & practical solutions.

- Experience of supporting and leading staff through change.

To work as part of a team to deliver a traded service, predominantly with schools, for services relating to data analysis and training on the use of the data.

Schools will be commissioning support for understanding their performance data, undertaking self-assessments for inspections and driving school improvement. This post will build relationships with senior managers in schools to develop reports and analysis to meet their needs and compete with other providers in this market place.

The remit will also cover schools outside the LA.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Practical and innovative approaches to the use of data to drive performance improvement

2. Analyse complex datasets using a range of different appropriate methodologies, and construct rich and clearly articulated business intelligence

3. Proven experience and advanced knowledge of business intelligence tools e.g. Advanced Excel, Business Objects, SQL or equivalent

4. High level communication skills that employ different modes of delivery as appropriate to the audience and develop understanding

The Council is seeking to recruit an experienced commercial property lawyer with extensive experience of regeneration projects to work within its Property and Conveyancing Team.

The role will mainly involve advising on sales and purchases of commercial property (both leasehold and freehold) but may also include some residential matters where site assembly is required. Many of the transactions will be high value and high profile and will require an ability to deal with officers at all levels of the Council; You will also need to be able to handle landlord and tenant matters as well as advise on property law generally.

The successful candidate will be experienced across all aspects of commercial property matters and able to handle a caseload of complex property matters without supervision.
