Nottingham City Substance Misuse Treatment System Consultation - Stage One

Nottingham City Council and Nottingham Crime & Drugs Partnership are looking to redesign and recommission the local substance misuse treatment system. The vision for the new model is a treatment system that delivers the best possible quality and standards of care, maximising numbers achieving a substance free lifestyle and recovery from substance misuse.

There will be two stages of consultation via questionnaire, both aiming to reach as wide an audience as possible:

  • Stage One: 1 June to 26 June (To gain feedback on six potential models)
  • Stage Two: September 2015 (To gain feedback on the final model)

The consultation is open to services users, service managers and staff, partner stakeholders, voluntary sector services, family and carers and the general public.

Community Mental Health Support Services: What does ‘good’ look like?

Invite to Planning Workshop

Thursday 25th June 2015, 12.30- 4.30pm

Park Inn (296 Mansfield Road, Nottingham NG5 2BT)

Are you interested in shaping how to define successful outcomes from Community Mental Health Support services in Nottingham?

Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) would like to invite you to join a workshop on the afternoon of the 25th June 2015 to help identify the outcomes required from successful Community Mental Health Support services. This session will build on opportunities highlighted by previous engagement, provide feedback on actions the CCG has taken following engagement and will help us to define our priorities for services in the future.

Who should attend?

We are keen to invite all people who can contribute to supporting the CCG’s understanding around the key outcomes which define successful Community Mental Health Support services. This may include:

  • People who have experienced mental health problems themselves, or who are in a position of put forward the views of people who have (e.g. family, friends, carers)
  • People providing support in the City (funded or not funded by Nottingham City CCG)
  • People working for organisations with an interest in the provision of mental health services, including providers of related services (e.g. housing, health, employment, etc.)

Overview

Nottingham City CCG is reviewing its community mental health support services and exploring how best it can improve outcomes for local people. ‘Commissioning for outcomes’ is of key importance - healthcare provision will be judged by results that matter to the service user, not simply by numbers of people seen.

Service users should have more influence over how their healthcare is delivered and this can be done by helping to shape the outcomes that are included in commissioner contracts.

The NHS is facing unprecedented challenges to its sustainability – demographic change, increasing demand and continual pressure on resources. We are experiencing this in Nottingham and have a responsibility to act to deliver better value and improved outcomes for patients. A move to ‘Commissioning for Outcomes’ will help to achieve this.

The purpose of the workshop is to identify the outcomes which matter most to local people. Facilitated group sessions will give attendees the chance to put forward their views on what should be measured to demonstrate successful outcomes from Nottingham’s Community Mental Health Support services.
