Welcome to your July Transport Nottingham Newsletter!

This monthly newsletter aims to keep you informed on everything that's going on across Nottingham from walking, cycling, public transport and our Citycard savings to our Major Transport Projects

Catch the bus week

Catch the bus week began on 29th June 2015 and is running until the 6th July.

Our partners at The Big Wheel have worked closely with our fabulous transport operators and have come up with great ways to celebrate the week that you can all get involved in.

Big Wheel's Workplace Challenge

Are you taking part in the Workplace Challenge? Businesses in Nottingham are being encouraged to get more active this summer as part of the Big Wheel’s Workplace Challenge!

The Challenge began on the 29th June and runs until the 7th August with Nottingham employees signing up and logging walking, running and cycling journeys.

Cycling for All

The next Cycling for All event is down at Queen's Drive Park and Ride on the 19th July 2015.

Ridewise, the Nottingham based cycling charity, carries out the events with the aim of inspiring more people to give cycling a go, no matter what their ability.

Business Support

In order to support Nottingham Businesses companies and organisations liable for the WPL can apply for a Cycling Infrastructure Support Grant.

Totally Transport!

Last week we held our very first Totally Transport event at the NG2 business park.

We were joined by some of our brilliant transport operators who were helping employees of the park realise the opportunities for public transport in place of single occupancy car use.

The Totally Transport event was funded through the European Union’s Intelligent Energy Europe Push Pull Project, which awarded Nottingham £74,000 to deliver travel planning measures at three Nottingham business parks

Sneinton Primary School awarded Bronze!

Sneinton C of E Primary School will become the first school in Nottinghamshire to be awarded charity Sustrans Bronze School Mark Award for its outstanding commitment to cycling at a prize ceremony on the 7th July 2015.

FREEsport 2015

Don't forget Nottingham City Council are providing citizens with the opportunity to try a new sport for FREE for 8 weeks with up to 10 sports to choose from.

New additions to the City Car Club family...

Using funding from the Department for Transport secured through the Car Plus Demonstration bid the current City Car Club Nottingham scheme is due to expand with 3 new vehicles at key transport interchange sites this month.

Cars are due to be on site mid-month with an official launch taking place at the end of the month - watch this space for news and info!

Citycard Cycle hubs expand into the County!

3 new Citycard cycles hubs have been introduced into the County areas with one in Arnold, Beeston and West Bridgeford.

Registered Citycard users are able to use any of the 14 24hour Citycard Cycle Hubs which provide under cover parking, lighting, CCTV and Citycard access control doors and lockers (at some locations).
