Armed Forces Weekend

A weekend of celebration and remembrance to honour our Armed Forces past and present. Come along to Wollaton Hall on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June 2015

This hugely popular weekend attracts thousands of people every year and is the flagship Armed Forces event for the East Midlands.

Afternoon Tea at Wollaton Hall

Great news for afternoon tea fans - Lazy Daisy now has a permanent tea room at Wollaton Hall where they will be serving homemade afternoon teas every Sunday between 12 - 4pm and Bank Holiday Mondays in the salon room.

Enjoy a delicious homemade tea served on vintage china in the lovely surroundings of the saloon room overlooking the gardens.

Women’s Running 5k and 10k is coming to Nottingham, Sunday 12 July

Lace up your trainers, rally your girlfriends and join hundreds of women on Nottingham Embankment on Sunday 12 July for the 2015 Women’s Running 5k and 10k Race Series, in association with This Girl Can.

Hosting two races, 5k and 10k, the event welcomes women and girls of all abilities to run together along the off-road, beautifully serene Embankment. Whether you’re looking for your first running event or you’re a seasoned runner hunting down a new Personal Best time, this race is a must for the diary.

With lots of picnic spots by the river and plenty of lovely restaurants close by, it’s a great location to bring your family along to cheer you along and enjoy a fun day out at the historic Trent Bridge.

Whether you are an experienced street performer, entertainer or musician or an exciting new talent, we want to hear from you. You are invited to perform and entertain the crowds at one of the BBC Big Busk points around the city between 11am and 4pm.

5.30 Non Competitive Run/Walk at 5:30am - 3rd July 2015

5.30, a unique Italian running event, is coming to Nottingham on Friday 3rd July with the city having been chosen as the first international destination for a series of events that has taken Italy by storm.

This 5.3km non-competitive run/walk around the deserted streets of the city centre at 5.30am on a Friday morning. All participants are encouraged to take part at their own pace and are rewarded with a fresh fruit breakfast when they finish. The event in Nottingham will start and finish in the Old Market Square and the route will take in other Nottingham landmarks including the Castle and the Old Trip to Jerusalem.

City WI June meeting – An evening with Nottingham’s official Robin Hood

Wednesday 10 June at 7.30pm

Join Nottingham City Women’s Institute for a fun evening hearing about life as Nottingham’s Robin Hood from Tim Pollard! Plus, enjoy tea and biscuits and get the chance to meet the lovely ladies of the WI and see if membership could be right for you.

FREE Guided Bike Ride around Wollaton Park - Sunday 14 June

The programme of FREE guided bike rides returns this summer. Enjoy a variety of weekend and evening rides led by a qualified ride leader, which will take you on a planned safe route and increase your familiarity with cycle routes around Nottingham - including The Big Track. The rides are suitable for all ages and abilities and are guided by a trained British Cycling ride leader.
