British tennis trio to compete in Aegon Open Nottingham

Aljaz Bedene have followed Davis Cup by BNP Paribas star James Ward in being
awarded a wild card into the Aegon Open Nottingham (ATP) field from June 22-27.
The Aegon Open Nottingham men’s ATP event is being staged from 20-27 June 2015.
The Aegon Open Nottingham women’s WTA event is currently taking place at the Nottingham Tennis Centre with the finals taking place on Sunday 14 June 2015.
Nottingham foster carers use
social media to find the next generation of carers
To mark Foster Care Fortnight (1-14 June) carers in the city have taken to Twitter and
Facebook to share their experiences.
They want to reach out to people who may have thought about fostering but
aren’t sure how it would fit into their lives.
Carers and fostering teams in Nottingham will
give potential new carers all the information they need to decide whether
fostering is for them.
Nottingham Castle to
exhibit da Vinci drawings next year
Nottingham Castle Museum and Art Gallery has
been selected as just one of four museums and galleries nationally to host a
new touring exhibition of ten of the finest drawings by Leonardo da Vinci in
the Royal Collection. The exhibition will come to Nottingham on 30 July – 9
October 2016.
The works have been selected to show the
extraordinary scope of the artist’s interests, from painting and sculpture to
engineering, zoology, botany, mapmaking and anatomy, as well as his use of
different media – pen and ink, red and black chalks, watercolour and
metalpoint.
Arts Funding secured for
Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games ceremonies programme
Cerebral Palsy Sport,
the local organising committee for the Nottingham 2015 CPISRA World Games, has
secured £79,000 in funding from Arts Council England’s National Lottery funded
Grants for the arts programme for the development and delivery of a ceremonies

Streets which form the southern gateway to the city
centre are set to be restored to former glories through a £1.4m Heritage
Lottery Fund (HLF) bid by the City Council.
Historic buildings in Carrington Street, Arkwright Street and
Station Street are in line for the transformation, after the council was
awarded £35,600 in development funding from the HLF, to work up its proposals
under the Townscape Heritage programme.
