 Please note this only applies to residents who have bin collections on a MONDAY.
Please remember, if your bin is due to be collected on Monday 25 May, due to the Bank Holiday it will now be collected on Saturday 23 May. Please remember to put your bin out for collection before 7am.

Over the next few weeks, Love Food Hate Waste will be sharing lots of tips and ideas that can help prevent waste when managing food in one person households or in households where numbers fluctuate.
Those
living on their own end up throwing away a larger proportion of the food that
they buy, when compared to larger households and more of what is wasted is
because it goes off before being eaten.
Some foods are
sold in large packs or portions, individual or smaller portions may be more
expensive per helping, and it can be difficult to break the habit of cooking
for several people.
Following some simple tips can help you manage food waste:
- Planning meals and buying only what you need
- Keeping an eye on the date labels on the foods
- Ensuring you make sure you store the food properly so it stays fresh for longer

From 1 June teams will be busy working across neighbourhoods on the first hedge cut of the season for
Nottingham City Homes Tenants on the garden assistance scheme.
Colleagues and apprentices from
Nottingham City Council’s Neighbourhood Services will be working to maintain the hedges
over a six week period. The second cut is due to take place in September and
October.
Tenants can be assured that all
properties will be visited during this period so they don’t need to contact the
Council.
The garden assistance
scheme is a popular and highly valued service which is free to Nottingham City
Homes (NCH) tenants who meet eligibility criteria.
Tenants
will receive a visit from a friendly and trained operative from Nottingham City
Council’s Neighbourhood Services department to undertake the work.
The service benefits all local residents
as gardens are maintained to a high standard which contributes to
neighbourhoods looking clean and tidy.

Don't forget! Garden waste collections have started across the city - make sure you take advantage of this free service.
For those of you that receive garden waste collections, your
collection takes place on your normal recycling collection day. Just put your brown garden waste bin
out with your grey lidded recycling bin.
Simply follow the guidelines below to make sure you put the right items in the bin:

- Grass cuttings
- Hedge clippings
- Twigs and small branches
- Leaves and weeds
- Dead flowers
- Small amounts of potting compost (not bags)
No thanks
- Bagged garden waste
- Plant pots
- Plastic bags
- Large amounts of soil or grass sods
- Animal waste
- Treated wood
- Bricks and rubble
- Organic food waste
