Welcome to the first edition of Library News, a new monthly update to keep you, as a Havering library member, in touch with what's happening in the library service.

Elm Park Library

Events:

Monday 16 November, 10am - 11am. Dementia Friends drop-in session. Over-18s only. Please book in advance by email.

Tuesday 17 November, 10am - 11.30am. Christmas paper crafts for adults. £6 members, £7.50 non-members. Please book in advance by email.

Wednesday 25 November, 2pm - 3.30pm. Young at Heart club for over 50s. Guest speaker: Ellen Owen from Havering Museum.

Gidea Park Library

Events:

Thursday 29 October, 6pm, La Mafia, the truth about the most famous criminal organisation.  Members £3, non members £4.50

Saturday 7 November, 10am - 3pm, Indian head massage and back massage. Free admission.

Friday 20 November, 10am - 11am. Dementia Friends drop-in session. Over-18s only. Please book in advance by email.

Wednesday 25 November, 7pm - 9pm. The Harlequins present: A Little Bit of What You Fancy. £5 members, £6.50 non-members. Please book in advance by email.

Regular Groups:

Every Wednesday, 2.15pm - 2.45pm. Baby Bounce with songs and rhymes.

Harold Hill Library

Harold Hill Library Mural 261015

During the summer a new mural has been painted in the junior section of Harold Hill Library.

Events:

Tuesday 27 October, 11am - 12noon, Young at Heart club for over 50s. Guest speaker from F Barnes Solicitors.

Every Thursday,  10am to 12noon. In Stitches sewing group.

Events:

Hornchurch Library

During October Hornchurch Library had faster broadband installed to make internet access quicker for customers.

Events:

Tuesday 29 October, 2.30pm. Halloween Craft for four to eight-year-olds. £4 members, £5.50 non-members. Book now by email.

Saturday 21 November, 7.15pm. Quiz Night, bring your own food and drink. Tables of six. £5 per person. Book now by email.

RSPB Havering, second Friday of each month, 7.30pm - 9.45pm

We SHALL remember them...

Lest we forget poppy wreath

Havering libraries Family History and Local Studies Centre holds records of soldiers who died in The Great War (1914-18) and copies of the Army Roll of Honour (1939-45). Upminster Library has copies of these records on CD-Rom.


Events

Every library in Havering has computers available for free use by the public, as well as free WiFi access. Just call in to your nearest library to find out more.
