£40million for Rainham
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, has announced that
the Council’s Housing Zone bid to transform the A1306 New Road and
old industrial sites into a vibrant new residential area has been approved. A total of £40million is due to be spent in Rainham.
The exciting future for the run-down industrial
areas along New Road includes:
• 3,500 quality new homes
• A 2km long linear park along the A1306
• New school and health provision
• New train station
• Creation of new jobs
• New safe pedestrian and cycle routes.

Recycling centre looking better
Keep an eye open for the new look recycling
centres at Bretons Outdoor Recreation Centre, Rainham Road, and Malan Square, Rainham.
Thanks to a grant from the London Waste and
Recycling Board new covers are being installed to make the recycling
centres more attractive.
Don’t forget if you recycle at one of the
centres and post a selfie you will earn 1,200 Green Points, worth £3, to spend on a wide
range of goods or services.

If you see something that needs improving in Rainham please report it using the Council’s
online forms.
The forms cover a wide range of issues from fly-tipping to
potholes.
Completing the correct form sends it direct to the right
people to deal with that issue.

presentation evening, hosted by Francine Lewis on Friday 16 October at the CEME
Conference Centre in Marsh Way, Rainham, so come along and support
your local businesses.
Tickets, which include a three-course dinner,
pre-dinner drinks and wine with the meal, can be booked online and cost £80 plus VAT
each.
