The M11 junction 13 resurfacing and A14 junction 31 to 34 central reservation barrier works are going well. Despite cold temperatures at night we carried out white lining and resurfacing work at junction 26-29. We had no cancelled shifts last week.

A14 junction 31to 34 central barrier 40mph speed limit

We have put a 40 mph speed limit in place while we carry out works to the central reserve barrier.

This work is too extensive to carry out in a single night. And while work is being carried out the barrier won’t meet safety standards if struck by a vehicle driving at the national speed limit.

So to keep you safe we have reduced the speed limit. We’ve put out black and yellow signs to explain this too.

Here's the current schedule of works that Balfour Beatty are carrying out on behalf of Highways England. Remember schedules may change at short notice, for example due to bad weather.

A14 J31 eastbound and westbound loops

Kerb replacement

Travelling north on the M11 to go east bound: head northbound on the M11 and on to the A14 to J30 and then turn around and join the A14 eastbound.

Travelling westbound on A14 to Huntingdon: travel southbound on the M11 to J12, turn round and head northbound to M11 to junction 14. Continue onto the A14.

 

Travelling from the A14 westbound onto the A428:   travel southbound on the M11 to junction 12, turn round and head northbound to M11 junction 13 follow the A1303 to Madingley.

 

Non-motorway traffic travelling westbound to Cambridge: leave A14 at J32. Travel southbound on the A1049 and return northbound on the A1307.

Starts 29 February for Three Nights

M11 J11 – Lane 1 closure north and southbound

Installation of signs

No diversion required.

Weekends of 4-6 March and 11-14 March 2016

M11 J13 Northbound offslip closure and lane 1 closure northbound.

Carriageway reconstruction

Continue north on M11 and join A14 westbound.

Turn around at J30 to head eastbound.

Follow A14 eastbound to J32 and turn around onto A14 westbound.

Follow A14 and join A428 westbound to Maddingley.

Take A1303 towards Cambridge.

 

Continuing on until 10 April 2016
