East Sussex County
Council will decide on its budget and council plan for the coming year,
tomorrow (9 February 2016).
Councillors will vote
on proposals to increase council tax by 3.99%, including a 2% ‘social care
levy’ approved by the Government, which must be spent on adult social care
services.
The proposed budget
would see £366 million spent on services in the new financial year. At the
moment, East Sussex County Council expects to need to make savings of at least
£70 million by 2019.
Watch
the council meeting live from 10am on Tuesday 9 February.
