Award winning customer service - ESCC apprentice is nominated for an award!
An East Sussex County Council (ESCC) apprentice has been nominated for an apprenticeship award by the National Apprenticeship Service.
Corinne Black works in the Contact
Centre for the Highways department at ESCC as a Customer Advisor apprentice.
Acting as the first point of
contact via calls, emails, fault reports and social media, Corinne aims to
answer customer enquiries; however, when this is not possible she will escalate
the enquiry onto the relevant teams to investigate.
Corinne has been
nominated for the intermediate level apprenticeship award because she works extremely effectively
alongside colleagues, going the extra mile and taking on new responsibilities. Corinne is one of
five team members that look after the Highways social media accounts, updating
customers and reporting any issues that customers post. Part of this duty includes interviewing members of staff and writing
information articles.
Corinne said: “I have gained
valuable training for my role and I have also been on several training days and
visited other departments to give me a better understanding of how East Sussex
County Council and the Highways Department works.
“I spent a week with the Corporate
Complaints team to gain an understanding of the types of complaints they
receive and the reason why they are passed on from Highways and other
departments.”
Corinne's manager, Sharon Tomkins said: "Since joining the Customer Access Team in October 2014, Corinne has become a true asset to the team.
"She provides a
very high level of customer service, is one of the teams highest performers and
is fully capable of carrying out all aspects of the role to a high standard, and
is always keen to learn new tasks."
