budgetspending

This year (2015/16) a further saving of £50 million is required as a result of the Government’s latest Comprehensive Spending Review. This will be followed by a saving of at least £34 million in 2016/17.

Help to influence our decisions about how future savings are made by telling us your priorities by Friday 30 January

Leader of Devon County Council, John Hart warns that there will be no let-up in the savings that local councils have to find over the next few years no matter who wins the General Election.

Mr Hart will be taking the message across Devon as he begins a series of meetings with representatives of public bodies, including town and parish councillors, across the county to spell out the continuing challenge.

The first meeting will be at Exeter Library on Thursday 13 November from 6:30pm to 8:30pm
