Headteachers and Business Managers are invited to attend the annual HR One Schools’ Forum on either Thursday 27 November or Monday 1 December 2014.

School Funding 2015/16 Consultations

There were four consultation events across the county last month and, in total, there were 262 delegates with 242 representing schools. This equates to 41 per cent of all schools. The local authority and the Schools’ Funding Group have now considered all the responses and proposed a set of recommendations to the Devon Education Forum on 24 October 2014 and following that to DCC Cabinet. If schools need further advice, please contact the advice service on either info@childrensfoodtrust.org.uk or by calling 0800 680 0080.  The Children’s Food Trust (CFT) and the Lead Association for Catering in Education (LACA) have been commissioned by the department to provide a support service for schools, local authorities and caterers preparing to provide UIFSM.

Safeguarding and Early Help

Early Help Awareness Sessions

Early Help Awareness Sessions are currently running, with plenty of dates for you to choose from.

A short, 3 hour session, introducing Early Help and explaining the processes as well as the link between Early Help, DAF, MASH and SEND and explaining the revised ways of working.

The overall aim of Early Help is to build resilient families who are able to find their own solutions and create a happy, healthy home.

Target audience: all those working with children, young people and their families in Safeguarding. These sessions are particularly, but not exclusively, relevant to schools and the voluntary sector.

Safeguarding and SEND Audit 2014-15

This year, in response to requests from schools, the audit process has been streamlined by combining the Safeguarding and SEND audits and making them an online submission. Both have been updated to reflect the national and local changes enabling schools to assure themselves that they have all the necessary requirements in place.  Read More>>
