Community News Roundup
Devon County Council

 28 April 2013

LibrariesConsultations

A public consultation on Devon County Council’s proposals for its future library service is underway.

The County Council wants to hear from local communities, town and parish councils to identify how 28 smaller, less well used libraries could be sustained in future.

To find out how you can be involved in making your local library sustainable and receptive to community needs or to host / be part of a local meeting, please contact your County Councillor or email librarystrategyfeedback@devon.gov.uk.

The consultation will run until 17 July, and a definitive set of proposals will go before the County Council’s Cabinet in September.

Information on the consultation is available at www.toughchoices.co.uk

Drop in sessions

A series of drop-in sessions will be held at libraries across the county between 28 April and 25 June giving people an opportunity to provide their feedback on the future of the library service proposals.

See the timetable of sessions on the consultation and engagement webpage
