Devon County Council leader John Hart renews Cabinet

Dear colleague,

John Hart, Leader of Devon County Council, has today renewed his Cabinet following the resignation of Will Mumford, who had been the Cabinet Member responsible for education and children's services.

Some of you may be aware that Will is a surveyor, and has been appointed Operations Director of property company NPS South West. NPS contracts for work with Devon County Council and Will has resigned his Council seat to avoid any conflict of interest.

He will be replaced by Hatherleigh and Chagford Councillor James McInnes, a former Leader of West Devon Borough Council, who currently chairs Devon's Development Management Committee.

I know many of you have worked closely with Will following the Ofsted inspection and that we will be sorry to lose his professional challenge and drive for improvement in children’s services. However, James takes on the role with equal enthusiasm and commitment and I am sure you will join me in welcoming him.

James is looking forward to meeting people across the service soon.
