Local pharmacies help fight flu in Devon
After the mildest winter on record, experts are warning that the flu season has now started with increasing numbers of flu like illnesses presenting to GPs.

All front line client-facing staff are being reminded to get the flu jab at their local pharmacy under a new scheme introduced this winter. 43% of healthcare workers across the county have already protected themselves so if you are eligible for a free flu vaccine please follow our important advice (PDF version)

Telephone

Telephone down time
Tomorrow (Saturday 16 January) we will be replacing components of the telephone exchange at County Hall, to ensure continued resilience. This unavoidable work means that from 1.30pm to 4.30pm the majority of the telephone extensions on the DCC 01392 38xxxx network will not receive external incoming calls. Extensions at County Hall will not work at all. Please read (PDF version)


Meeting rooms

Booking and cancelling meeting rooms
Our meeting rooms in 310, County Hall are frequently booked up, but we can see there are many occasions when the ‘booked’ rooms are not actually being used.  Please can room organisers ensure that their bookings are cancelled if meetings are rescheduled or not longer needed.

Public Health Devon

Calling all our primary and secondary schools
Last chance to register to take part in the School's Health Education Unit survey. Evidence from our schools will be used to inform the Early Help for Mental Health service.

Deadline for registration is today, Friday 15 January.

Devon residents planning a post Christmas clear-out are being urged to donate unwanted items at a ‘Give and Take’ event at County Hall on January 21 or organise an event of their own.

  • Get involved! Drop-off unwanted items between 9.30am and 11.30am on the day and then come back to take away items between 12pm and 2.00pm
