Dear colleague,
Today we are launching our latest
Staff Survey which I would encourage you all to complete. This is your opportunity to let our Corporate Leadership
Team, Heads of Service and Leadership Teams understand more about how it feels
for you to work for Devon County Council, and to help us identify opportunities
for improving the way we work together.
While we are all more than
aware of the continued economic pressures facing local government, Devon County
Council remains at the heart of life in the South West. As well as fulfilling
several hundred statutory duties, we work with our communities and partners to
support those in greatest need, promote health and wellbeing, maintain Devon’s
infrastructure, support the economy, and promote our wonderful natural environment.
It’s also a time of change and opportunity - our Better Together vision
proposes a new partnership which enables people to build on their own strengths.
This is supported by our Operating
Model that promotes a new way of working and challenges us to fundamentally
rethink our relationship with citizens and communities, and the way in which
our organisation will operate in the future.
And with the Heart of the
South West devolution
bid due to go before Government next month, we are part of a powerful,
influential voice for the area which could lead to more freedom and choice for
us all.
The results of the survey
will help to support our work in this exciting and fast-moving environment for
the County Council, and to identify themes, and areas and activities where
improvements may be possible.
It
only takes about 15 minutes to fill in the survey, which can be done during
working hours. Your answers will be treated in complete confidence.
You
are also encouraged to use the staff forum ideas@work
to share your thoughts, and discuss issues and ideas. We are particularly keen
to hear more about how it feels to work for Devon and if you feel you are
fairly rewarded for the work you do.
Please
to complete the survey by Wednesday 9 December 2015.
Thank
you for your time; we look forward to
hearing from you.
