3 December 2015, Central London

The mental health and wellbeing of children and young people is centre stage as evidence mounts of problems becoming increasingly prevalent at a time of shrinking budgets.

The government’s five-year strategy, Future In Mind, sets out a plan to improve support at all levels of need covering the full spectrum of services, from prevention through to treatment for more serious issues.

This is a vital national conference for primary and secondary school leaders as well as professionals in child and adolescent mental health services, local authority children’s services and the voluntary sector.

The consultation document sets out the principles under which the 2 inspectorates propose to undertake these joint inspections.

The DfE is seeking the widest possible range of views from those who have an interest in, or expertise relating to disability and special educational needs. We particularly want to hear from disabled young people and those who have special educational needs and their parents and carers.

111 MPs petition Prime Minister demanding fairer school funding

One hundred and eleven Members of Parliament have signed a letter to the Prime Minister demanding that he sticks to his pledge to introduce a new national funding formula in the near future.

The letter, which was masterminded by f40 Vice Chair, Graham Stuart MP, was handed over in the House of Commons. It calls on the government to implement a fairer funding formula along the lines of proposals prepared by f40 which, from 2017-18, would see funding geared towards improving educational standards rather than perpetuating an inequitable system.   Read More>>
