Has someone you know demonstrated an outstanding contribution to caring/managing our environment, and/or our natural resources? Take the opportunity to recognise a colleague/team for the work they do? If you are unable to access the STARS webpage please download the nomination form and email or post it back.
Compliments
The following compliments have been received for members of the Highway Services Team:-
'Many Thanks to Steve Pickard for helping to organise the hedge cutting on the A361 North Devon Link Road using the planned night time closures for the resurfacing works further along the road. I have already had a nearby resident call the CSC to say what a brilliant job we are doing and congratulate us on using these on going closures'.
'Dear Annmarie, thank you very much for your help with the overgrown hedge. I had almost given up hope and was very surprised when I set out early morning to find I could walk along the pavement'.
Staff Telephone Payments System - Downtime Wednesday 28th October 2015
ICT need to implement two Liferay upgrades. The upgrade process will mean that we will have to bring down all transactional services for a period, this includes contact forms and the online payment process (Payment Gateway). The following services will be affected.
The work is planned to be done on the morning of Wednesday 28 October starting at 7.00am, ICT hope to have the work completed by approximately 11.00am. There will be a message on all the sites, informing customers prior to the downtime. During the downtime, customers will be redirected to an information page.
Banners and Seasonal Decorations
From 21 October 2015 we are changing the way we deal with applications to erect banners or decorations over the highway.
Due to the additional demand placed on the CSC following DCC bringing CPE in-house, a new automated parking line was introduced on Thursday 22 October 2015.
Please read the following article for more information and what to do should we receive calls on our direct line.
Winter Service
The winter service period officially started on Thursday 15 October 2015. New webpages will be available shortly which will focus on the questions frequently asked by customers.
As mentioned above, Winter Service Training will be provided in the whole team meeting in November.
When processing TTRO's and TTRN's for the period October to April, it is very important to check the gritting routes.
