The Education Funding Agency has recently updated the good practice guide on school forums (replacing the October 2013 version). This includes reference to the distinction of 3 separate types of academy representatives introduced this year (mainstream, special and alternative provision academies, where there are such academies within an LAs area).
Paragraphs 18, 29 and 41 refer to academy membership. In Devon in the absence of an academy umbrella group, the Phase Executives put forward nominations in line with pupil number proportions and invite Academy Governing Bodies/Proprietor Boards to either approve the nomination(s) or put forward an alternative candidate.
The EFA also publishes information for schools and academies to understand the role of their schools forum.

The National Governors' Association's bi-monthly magazine 'Governing Matters' has recently published two articles - one on School Funding and the other on Fairer Funding.
