Thank you to all schools who have filled in the food poverty in schools survey. We would appreciate if any schools that have not yet filled it in could take 5 minutes to do so. The results are helping to inform action on food poverty in Devon. Complete the survey>>
Initial results from 52 schools found that: 61% currently offer a breakfast club 16% offer a holiday club that includes food, 14% offer a holiday club where food is not provided 61% of schools agree or strongly agree that food poverty, including children turning up to school hungry and going hungry in the holidays, is an issue in their school. Some schools are piloting schemes such as Make Lunch this half term.
The survey will stay open until Friday 5 June, and will be followed by a briefing, further resources and good practice examples of how schools and communities can tackle food poverty.
