Doorstep alert

A Cheylesmore resident reported receiving a visit from 2 men offering gardening work. One of the men was carrying a ladder. We have received similar reports of men going around door to door in other areas of the City including Stoke Aldermoor offering similar work or offering to lay or jet wash drives and patios.

Our advice is not to deal with people who call unannounced at your door offering to carry out property repairs.

Fino Olive Oil recalls all bottles of six varieties of its infused olive oil products

The effectiveness of process controls that could potentially affect the safety of infused olive oil products produced by Fino Olive Oil, cannot be demonstrated satisfactorily. The issue relates to controlling factors to prevent the growth and toxin production of Clostridium botulinum. This may cause a serious form of food poisoning called botulism. Therefore, a recall from customers is being carried out as a precautionary measure.

Six varieties of bottled Fino Olive Oil infused olive oils are the subject of this recall:

  • Basil Olive Oil
  • Garlic Olive Oil
  • Chilli Olive Oil
  • Lemon Olive Oil
