In the summer of 2013 1,660
Coventry residents and city centre users were surveyed on their thoughts about
Coventry City Centre. The main aim of this research was to provide information
for the Business Improvement District on the visitor profile and pattern,
out-of-town competition, attendance at events and perceptions of the city
centre.

- Newly published statistics estimate the total annual household
income across all of Coventry in 2012 was £4.3 billion. This is an average
income per head of £13,400 – lower than the UK average of £16,800. The annual
change from 2011 was a 2% increase, lower than the average increase across the
UK of 3%.
- The Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) claimant count in Coventry
continues to fall – in May 2014 7,227 residents claimed JSA, down from 7,516 in
April.
