This
years annual event is taking place on Wednesday 24 October 2018 10 am to 4pm at
Cumbria House, Carlisle.
At
this years event we have Juliet Ramage, National Lead on Neglect for A4C
presenting the learning from Ofsted’s thematic review of neglect and older
children and talking about the Action for Children’s Revolving Door report.
Nigel Holme from the Resilience Project will be talking to us about the impact
of adverse childhood experiences from a survivors perspective.
If you would like to attend, book your place by emailing LSCB
office lscb@cumbria.gov.uk
Knowing
when, what and how to refer, and making that referral swiftly, is fundamental
to ensure the right level of support and intervention is provided to children
in need or at risk of harm. To enable us to achieve these aims we want to
develop the role of ‘Neglect Practice Champions’.
The
neglect practice champions will be professionals who feel passionate about
addressing the issue of neglect in Cumbria and improving practice across the
LSCB partnership in relation to this area.

Some
of the things the neglect champions have said that they have done in their
roles as champions;
