Just what you're looking for

For your convenience, we’ve put together a guide to some of the most popular highways topics on our website. It is based on the mostly frequently used search terms over the past few months.

  • Repairs
Our Report It Now page allows you to report a problems such as potholes, faulty street lights, road obstructions and flooding. You can also track progress on your request for a service and learn about how we inspect problems and prioritise repairs.
  • Road Closures
We use Roadworks.org to give information about roadworks and closures – which includes information from Central Bedfordshire Council, other Local Authorities, Highways England, Transport for London, and many utility companies. You can also follow CBC_Highways on Twitter to keep up to date with what's happening on our roads.
  • Public Rights of Way
Our Public Rights of Way team maintain over 1,340 kilometres of rural and urban public paths - for example public footpaths. Click through to download online maps, report a problem, read about temporary and permanent changes and find advice as users, farmers and landowners.
  • Dropped kerbs
If you wish to park your car on your property then a proper crossing needs to be installed. This involves dropping (lowering) the kerb and strengthening the pavement in front of the property. In order to ensure that vehicle crossings are properly constructed, all domestic dropped kerbs are built by the Council. Dropped kerbs add value to the property and therefore are not funded from the Council's public funds.
  • Road safety
On our Road Safety page you can find out about courses and initiatives, read driving advice and get seasonal driving tips.
  • Biggleswade Green Wheel
The Biggleswade Green Wheel is the name given to a walking and cycling route around Biggleswade, passing through areas of landscape, heritage and wildlife interest. The wheel encircles the town with a number of access 'spokes' linking areas of the town to the 'rim' of the wheel.
