Council’s Business Plan 2015+. City services need to change radically to achieve the council’s aim of creating a fairer, more prosperous and more democratic city with a drastically reduced budget. The plan will be finalised following full council on 3 March.

Make sure you’re in – your vote matters. You won’t have a say on who is running the country or Birmingham on 7 May if you aren’t on the electoral register! Sign up now – it’s also important for your credit rating.

Birmingham City Council wants to know what people think of local democracy, how it is, and how it should be, as part of its Community Governance Review.

More Brompton Bikes for Hire. The ingenious Brompton folding bike hire scheme is expanding! To add to the 20 bikes already for hire from a ‘Brompton dock’ outside Moor Street Station, two new docks are due to be launched in March on New Street and Colmore Row.

Paradise redevelopment work has begun. While these major improvements are taking place there will be some disruption to roads. Plan your journey – use public transport, walk or cycle wherever possible. For bike hire try www.bromptonbikehire.com.

Birmingham Exchanging Places. We all want to get around safely – this means sharing the roads responsibly. Birmingham Exchanging Places events allow drivers and cyclists to experience travelling from each other’s perspective. For information email: smarterchoices@birmingham.gov.uk

The Council is switching to Barclays Bank. If you pay money to the council, you only need to take action if you pay; Online (via your bank); by Standing Order or by a Payment Booklet.
