Birmingham has a lot to offer in the lead up to Christmas. The countdown starts here!

Shopping: Grand Central offers the largest John Lewis store outside London, and a host of other new brands; the Mailbox and Selfridges have undergone multi-million pound redevelopments; and don’t forget the wide range of fresh produce to choose from at Bull Ring Markets.

Food and drinks scene: the city has many highly-acclaimed restaurants, cafes and street food outlets to whet your appetite.

Frankfurt Market and Craft Market as well as the outdoor skating rink and observation wheel bring festive cheer.

Events: a star-studded line-up featuring – among many others – Madonna, Gareth Malone, the world’s biggest panto, and Birmingham Royal Ballet, performing the Nutcracker.

There’s more:

Birmingham Hippodrome’s spectacular pantomime extravaganza Aladdin returns from 19 Dec 2015 to 31 Jan 2016 – starring Marti Pellow, Julian Clary, Lee Mead and Matt Slack.

The Clothes Show, 4-8 December, NEC. Experience fashion at its finest: and get set to be dazzled by the great line-up of brands, boutiques and celebrities.

Should the underground music scene in Brum remain underground? Share your thoughts with us and you could be in with a chance of winning 2 tickets to the BBC Music Awards on 10 December at the Genting Arena! Find out more and get involved by visiting Birmingham Culture on Facebook.

It’s the last chance to see Eastside Project’s Display Show, which looks at different forms of display, including radical practices from the twentieth century by artists, designers and architects.

Getting there: it’s going to be busy with so many great things happening in the city, so please plan ahead for your travel.
