BE FESTIVAL turns
the Birmingham
Repertory Theatre back to front with headspinning performances of
theatre, dance, circus, food and visual arts from Europe’s four corners. Runs
until 27 June.
The Colmore Food
Festival is back for its fifth year and
will be dishing up a vibrant variety of dishes from Fri 3 to Sat 4 July in Victoria Square in the city centre.
Sainsbury’s British
Championships. Don’t miss ‘Super Sunday’ of
the Sainsbury’s British Athletics Championships on 5 July at Birmingham’s
Alexander Stadium!
Perfect your salsa moves for
the 20th Latin American Festival at the Arcadian
on 5 July. Live music, dance and entertainment will
fill the Arcadian with Latin spirit.
City of
Birmingham Triathlon, 19 July. A ‘triathlon experience’ for
everyone to enjoy and Sutton Park provides a perfect setting. It’s a spectator-friendly course for
supporting friends and family
At Home with
Vanley Burke,
22 July – 27 September. One of Birmingham's most iconic photographers, the
entire contents of Vanley Burke's flat are being transferred to Ikon, providing
an insight into Birmingham’s African Caribbean communities.

The council’s Leader, Deputy Leader, Chief
Executive and opposition leaders were quizzed at a public meeting in June,
about progress against recommendations from the Kerslake
Review. Watch a video
of the meeting or read a progress report. The
next public meeting is on 11 September.
Consultation to start on new integrated early
years service for children. In October 2015, public health services for
0-5 year olds become the responsibility of councils. Birmingham City Council is
set to transform its provision by integrating it with children’s centres and
early years provision.

The Birmingham
Wellbeing Service has been launched to enable residents to
be physically active in their local community through the city’s wellbeing

Square design competition. Edinburgh-based Graeme
Massie Architects have been revealed as winners of a competition to
transform one of Birmingham’s largest public spaces, which attracted nearly 200 entries from architects and designers around the world.

initiative.
Birmingham
City Council tenants and leaseholders can now show off their gardening skills
by entering this year’s Birmingham in Bloom competition.
