Houston Unites for Better Roads, Bridges and Public Transit

Thursday, April 9, 2015 is “Stand up 4 Transportation Day” across the country and we need to make sure the Houston region’s voice is heard.  Everyone should rally to send a powerful message to Congress: It’s time to make a long-term investment in transportation. This includes better roads, bridges, ports, bus and rail systems.

Join METRO, elected officials and community leaders at the METRO Transit Center in the Texas Medical Center at 6910 Fannin at Pressler from 6 to 7 a.m., Thursday, April 9.  The goal is to raise awareness and funds for transportation infrastructure. Visit www.standup4transportation.org to sign the petition and become a voice for public transit

Communities Standing Up 4 Transportation

Stand Up 4 Transportation is a nationwide initiative promoting education and outreach to public and elected officials.

METRO relies on federal funds to maintain and expand our regional transit system. Congress must pass a new federal transportation bill by May 31 to address the funding needs of our nation's highways and public transportation.

Send a message to the United States Congress: We need a long-term investment in America's transportation network. The impact is a potential $227 billion for federal projects affecting the way we travel, commute and access the things necessary to maintain a good quality of life.
