METRO to Close its HOV/HOT for Morning Commute

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses, METRO is currently expanding its 13-mile Red Line with two new lines under construction. METRO’s services also include: Star Vanpool, METROLift, HOV lanes, HOT lanes, Bikes-on-Buses/Trains program, Park & Ride, and road improvement projects. METRO to Close its HOV/HOTs for Morning Commute

Due to the weather conditions this morning, METRO will be closing its HOV/HOT lanes during the morning commute. This includes: US 290, 45 North, 45 South, 59 North and 59 South.

Other services will operate as follows:

Park & Ride buses and Star Vanpools will use the main lanes
Local bus service will run regular schedules
METRORail will operate its regular service
METROLift will also operate regular service with some delays, especially during the morning hours
