Santa Invites Riders to Join the Celebration

 

Forget about the sleigh! Grab a seat on METRO for the ride of a lifetime! METRORail staff are checking lists, polishing fixtures and wiping down windows for the Saturday, Dec. 21 launch of the new North/Red LineThe North/Red Line is an extension of the existing Main St./Red Line and will be the first new line to open in Houston in 10 years.

Train rides along the entire line will be free on opening day and families are encouraged to leave the car at home. The celebration promises to be a blast (literally) with a snow cannon shooting 80-thousand pounds of snow over Moody Park. The park is perfect for the kids with snow, balloon jumps, a huge play area for kids. And, just in case you need something a little warmer, we've got you covered because the music coming to Moody Park is hot!  

Introducing the New North Light Rail Line

Join METRO at Moody Park on Saturday, Dec. 21 to celebrate the arrival of the new North Line beginning 11:30 a.m.!  

 

The grand opening celebration will include acts like A.B.Quintanilla III y Los Kumbia King All Starz, Mango Punch, Fama and special guest Tamar Davis. The free event will also feature booths with food from north-side vendors and activities for children.  Board Metrorail free all day and check out the new line that extends the existing Main St. service by 5.3 miles.
