Houston has become a top destination for Spring Breakers
with more than 350,000 visitors coming daily to area attractions during school-free days.
This year it will be easier to connect to key activity centers with METRO’s enhanced New Bus Network and METRORail’s expanded, inter-connecting, lines. Last year METRO debuted the Green Line serving the East End, and the Purple Line serving parts of Southeast Houston, linking to the Red Line, the transit spine of Houston's inner loop.
Here's how visitors can optimize travel to Spring Break Houston top destinations by bus or rail:
-
Use METRO's Trip Planner, powered by Google, to give real-time travel options.
-
Text to find out when the next bus will arrive with our newest Next Bus Arrival Texting.
-
Download METRO's Q Mobile Ticketing to buy bus and rail tickets securely, anytime and anywhere.
-
Ride METRO’s Rodeo Shuttles to the exhibits/carnival/concerts at NRG Park (Maps, Fares & Hours of Operations)
-
Park along METRORail Red Line at HCC Central Garage (3200 Main), HCC Northline Garage (8001 Fulton), and at Fannin South Transit Center, which is just one rail stop away from NRG. For details on downtown parking near the Red Line check out this interactive parking map.

METRO will be working with the City of Houston and other partner agencies to keep the traffic flowing and ensure pedestrians are safe around METRORail in the Museum District and Hermann Park area.
