The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is the region’s largest public transit provider, offering safe, reliable and affordable transportation services about 370,000 times per day. Besides operating more than 1,200 buses on a New Bus Network, METRORail's expanded system includes the Red Line (Main Street and Northline), Green Line (East End) and Purple Line (Southeast). Commuters Connect with New METRO Transit Center

There's something big happening just below Houston's spectacular downtown skyline and METRO is inviting everyone to join in the celebration. A ribbon-cutting ceremony at METRO's newest transit center will take place Nov.10, 2015 at 9 a.m. The Burnett Transit Center is located at 700 Burnett St. and Everett St.. It is a key New Bus Network transit connection, allowing patrons to transfer from bus to rail.

Burnett Transit Center continues METRO's efforts to provide a more comprehensive transit system by creating a seamless link between light-rail and local bus.

WHAT: Burnett Transit Center Ribbon-Cutting

WHERE: 700 Burnett St. at Everett St.

Burnett Transit Center serves four local bus routes: 3 Langley, 51 Hardy-Kelly, 52 Hardy-Ley and 79 W. Little York.

Burnett Transit Center has six bus bays.

Passengers have the option to secure their bicycles at either bike racks or galvanized steel lockers.

Security cameras, lighting, emergency assistance telephones, elevators and passenger pick-up/drop-off areas are just a few of the amenities for customers.

Burnett Transit Center has cashless point-of-sale ticket vending machines to provide an added level of convenience for patrons.

Approximately 150 trees enhance the landscape around the transit center.
