New Light-Rail Crossing for Near Northside Residents, Students

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) celebrates the opening of a vehicle and pedestrian crossing in the heart of the historic Near Northside neighborhood at the intersection of Boundary St. and Everett St. Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.

METRO's Public Affairs Department worked with the community, government officials and Ketelsen Elementary School administrators to provide the crossing for residents to travel safely through the main artery to the neighborhood and the school.

METRO Board members, government officials and students will be on hand for the 9 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony.
