METRO Wants to Hear From You on HOT/HOV Lane Hours

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County is seeking input on a 90-day pilot program which increased operational hours for HOV and HOT lanes along specific corridors.

To help gauge the popularity of the program, METRO and the Texas A&M Transportation Institute want to hear from you. Drivers who took advantage of the pilot program's extended HOV/HOT lane hours are encouraged to participate in an online survey available at www.METROHOVSurvey.com

Participants must be age 18 or over and responses are confidential. The deadline to submit a survey is Nov. 30, 2015. Surveys received by Oct. 7 will be entered for a chance to win a gift card valued at $50.

On Sept. 30, 2015 METRO will conclude a 90-day pilot program extending the operating hours for HOV/HOT Lanes along the IH-45 South (Gulf), US-59 Southwest, US-290 Northwest, IH-45 North and US-59 North (Eastex) corridors.

During the 90-day pilot program, weeknight operation of the HOV/HOT lanes was expanded from 8 to 11 p.m. outbound. On weekends, inbound lanes were open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
