METRO Makes Right Turn to Better Service and Helps Riders Navigate New Bus Network

The first weekday of METRO's New Bus Network began a new age in public transportation for the region. This new system marked Phase 1 of a five year plan to improve mobility for the area. METRO staff, board members and the president and CEO were up before daybreak handing out water donated by H-E-B and ensuring riders had a smooth transition to the 78 updated local bus routes, including 22 bus routes scheduled to run every 15 minutes or better.

METRO staff escorted rider to bus traveling one of the new routes.

METRO Board members and staff offered a helping hand at The Downtown and TMC Transit Centers by handing out service maps and demonstrating Next Bus Arrival Texting.

President and CEO Tom Lambert showed one rider a schedule of one new local bus route that will help him get to his destination faster.
