Pinemont Deal Gets Green Light by METRO Board and Harris County Commissioners

A new multi-service center is planned for the Northwest side of Houston after Harris County Commissioners approved the purchase of the former METRO Pinemont Park & Ride. Harris County plans to build a facility on the property, where residents will be able to conduct county business, including tax services. Neighboring communities are celebrating the deal.  The 13.7 acres have been appraised at more than $3 million.

The former transit hub along U.S. 290, between Loop 610 and the Sam Houston Tollway closed in January of 2014 as a result of the 290 widening project. Last week, the METRO Board voted unanimously to sell the property to the county. The sale will go through contingent upon approval by the Federal Transit Administration
