Trader Joe's found a spot in Far North Dallas on Preston Road

Trader Joe's has announced plans to open a new 10,000 SF store in the Pepper Square Shopping Center in Far North Dallas. The grocery chain currently has seven stores in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with more locations under construction. Source: Dallas Morning News, April 22, 2015.

Downtown Dallas' historic Statler Hilton hotel will soon fly Hilton flag again

The long-vacant 19-story Statler building on Commerce Street in downtown Dallas is undergoing a $159 million redevelopment. The project, scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2016, will include a 161 room Hilton Hotel, 219 residences, four restaurants, and retail space. Source: Dallas Morning News, April 28, 2015.

Farmers Market blossoming as downtown Dallas neighborhood

The Farmers Market neighborhood in downtown Dallas is booming with a variety of new projects that are already attracting young professionals and families. City Electric Supply takes five floors of downtown high-rise

City Electric Supply, the new owner of the former Belo building at 400 Record Street in downtown Dallas, has announced plans to occupy five floors with their executive offices. Old Dallas library will become new downtown office digs

Tom Thumb will anchor retail portion of Uptown development

Hatcher Station Health Center in South Dallas draws cheers, praise

VanTrust Real Estate will build industrial park in southern Dallas County

VanTrust Real Estate has purchased 150 acres on Dallas Avenue south of Interstate 20 in southern Dallas, and plans to build an industrial complex. The development will include two speculative industrial buildings totaling more than 1 million SF. Source: Dallas Morning News, May 18, 2015.

City Unemployment Rate Declines

UE May 2015
  • The preliminary unemployment rate for the City of Dallas for April 2015 decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 3.8 percent.
  • The rate’s change was the result of a decrease in the net number of unemployed despite an increase in the city’s labor force.
