Sound Level Variance Application - Lululemon Athletica Run Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Blvd Site

 

Event:  Lululemon Athletica Run Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard Site

Description of Variance:

Location: Corner of Summit Avenue (South side of Median) and Mississippi River Boulevard

Noise Source: Lululemon Athletica has requested a sound level variance in order to use an amplifier and speakers to project sound for an emcee and DJ at the start/finish of a race event on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the corner of Summit Avenue (South side of the Median) and Mississippi River Boulevard. The variance is requested for the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014.The Department of Safety and Inspections will be recommending the following conditions: 1) The variance shall be for the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the corner of Summit Avenue (South side of Median) and Mississippi River Boulevard for the Event on Saturday, September 20, 2014.   2) All electronically powered equipment used in conjunction with the event shall not exceed 85 dBA as measured 50 feet from any sound source used for amplification and/or speakers. 3) The applicant shall provide personnel and equipment to ensure compliance with the sound level variance conditions. 4) All electronically powered equipment, PA systems, loudspeakers or similar devices shall be turned off no later than 12:00 p.m. at the corner of Summit Avenue and Mississippi River Boulevard on the date of the event.
