Mayor Coleman’s statement on Colleen J. Sheehy’s appointment to president and executive director of Public Art Saint Paul

SAINT PAUL – Mayor Chris Coleman today released the following statement regarding the appointment of Colleen J. Sheehy, Ph.D., as president and executive director of Public Art Saint Paul. Sheehy will succeed Public Art Saint Paul Founder Christine Podas-Larson, who is retiring after 28 years leading the organization.

“Christine’s vision and nearly three decades of dedication, hard work and constant collaboration have created an outstanding community asset,” said Mayor Coleman. “She will be greatly missed, but she is passing the baton to a capable and qualified successor. Sheehy’s past leadership in the regional arts community – paired with her deep understanding of the relationship between art and public service – makes her an incredible fit to lead Public Art Saint Paul.”
