DROP-IN GARLIC MUSTARD PULL IN SWEDE HOLLOW PARK

Thursday, May 21 @ 5-7 pm

Meet in the parking lot at East 7th Street and Payne Ave at the south end of Swede Hollow Park

We're still pulling garlic mustard, an invasive species,  and we need your help to remove it in Swede Hollow Park. If you haven't been to Swede Hollow Park before, be sure to join us. It's a beautiful area, nestled in the edges of the Swede Hollow, Dayton's Bluff and Railroad Island neighborhoods.

We are holding a drop-in event to help us get rid of garlic mustard. Gloves will be available. No experience is necessary—this is a great activity for anyone who loves to weed. Join us on your way home from work!

Come any time between 5 and 7 p.m., even if you can only stay for 30 minutes. Please start at the parking lot at East 7th Street and Payne Ave. We will have lawns signs leading to our working site. We’d love to have you!

No pre-registration required.

All ages, individuals and groups are welcome.

No experience necessary.

About Garlic Mustard
Garlic mustard (Alliaria petiolata)—due to its ability to aggressively spread, out-compete important native understory species, and create large monocultures, many ecologically important native plant communities are being displaced as garlic mustard spreads. This time of year, garlic mustard will flower and its seed will spread in great amounts.
