It's hard to believe the Thanksgiving holidays are upon us! My hope is that over the next five days, you are not only enjoying time with family and friends over the holiday meal, but are also taking the time to get some much-deserved rest and relaxation.
It has been a busy school year, and much is going on behind the scenes to not only improve the way we do business, but to improve the ways we can support you on the job.
As we hire more bus drivers, we will be able to reduce the number of double-runs that many of you have taken on this year, which will lighten your load. We also hope to have new routing software in place by early next year that will help make our routes more efficient and will enable us to more easily track and adjust routes as needed to ensure buses are operating at their peak capacity.
We are also working with our union reps to make sure you receive regular updates through T-News, and have successfully installed computer workstations at all bus lots. We are also working to address facility concerns at the bus lots, and will keep you updated on our progress.
In the spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to thank you again for all you do. In Transportation, our success relies on many people working together as a team to get the job done. You are truly appreciated, and I wish you an enjoyable and restful Thanksgiving holiday!

Director of Transportation

Computer Workstations Now Available at All Bus Lots
Computer workstations are now available for Transportation staff at all 12 PGCPS bus lots. The workstations were installed to ensure that all employees have access to school system e-mail and Oracle Self-Service.
