Service Alert: Plan extra time for your commute on Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8

Please plan extra time for your commute on Thursday and Friday, May 7 and 8, as the Portland area welcomes President Barack Obama to town. Buses and trains may experience significant delays Thursday afternoon and Friday morning whenever the President and his motorcade are nearby. Expect possible delays of 30 minutes or more due to traffic and heavy congestion in Portland City Center and other locations during the President’s visit.

MAX Green and Yellow lines will be disrupted from about 6:30 p.m. Thursday through about 9 a.m. Friday. The Green and Yellow lines will run on the Blue/Red tracks on 1^st Ave and Morrison/Yamhill in Portland City Center. You can connect with shuttle buses on Yamhill at 4^th or 5^th Ave or catch regular service buses. Shuttle buses will serve all Green/Yellow Line stations on the Transit Mall except for Pioneer Courthouse Station and all buses will be detoured off 5^th and 6^th Ave between SW Yamhill and Oak St.
