Working Hard For You
MARCH 28, 2013
This is a short week because of the Holiday. Normally I do my newsletter on Friday morning, but that will not be possible because I will be on the coast doing town halls. Probably the biggest thing that happened this week is we actually began to have discussions about PERS, revenue and the other issues we need to address to meet our Constitutional requirement of a balanced budget. It is a little frustrating waiting until the end of the second month of the Session to start a real conversation about the issues we should have been dealing with in a collaborative way before we even started. At this point the issue seems to be who should be sitting around the table on the various subject areas. Hopefully we can now get down to the real business we were elected to do. The next few weeks should be informative.
Because this is a holiday weekend I am going to leave politics aside for the moment. I just want to wish everyone the best in this time of contemplation and reflection. I also want to leave you with a little prayer that has sustained me over the last 26 years of my life. For those of you who don’t recognize it, it is the 12 Step prayer.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.
All my best,
Senator Jeff Kruse
